Join our Mother’s Day Walk team!

Once again, we will be walking in the Sport Chek Mother’s Day Run and Walk in support of Calgary NICUs. I personally have done this walk for the past three years (since my daughter was born) and can say without hesitation that it is a great way to spend the morning of Mother’s Day! The weather is normally very nice and it’s great to get out with friends (new and old) and the kids to enjoy a walk as part of such a large group. Knowing that the money raised will supply local NICUs with much-needed equipment is an added bonus!

All moms receive a rose at the finish line. You will also be entered into draws for lots of great prizes. There are light snacks at the end of the walk.

Many of us will be wearing our little ones. If there is a carrier you’ve been dying to try, take advantage of this opportunity to test out one from Babes in Arms! Just let us know which one you’d like to try.

The Details:

Who: Anyone is welcome to join our team – men, women, children, moms and dads, grandmas and grandpas and friends!

When: Sunday, May 10. Warm-up begins at 8:30 am and the walk begins at 9 am sharp.

Where: The walk starts at the base of the Calgary Tower, makes its way south to Mission, then back north to Olympic Plaza. Free public transit for walk participants that day (note: you’ll need to get your walk number from us beforehand if you plan to use it to get free transit).

How to register: Pick up a registration form from the store or print one off at the link above. Simply fill it out, gather pledges (optional) and bring it, with your $20 registration fee into the store on or before Tuesday, May 5 (slip under the door if we’re closed). We will drop off your registration and pick up your team t-shirts on May 6.

Please e-mail me at lindsay@babesinarms.ca if you’re interested in joining the team, so I can keep you in the loop!

We’ll be there! Doing the 5K run but look forward to see you guys. At least with the walk you can babywear. We’ll be using the stroller for the run. Looks like a nice day Sunday!
